Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of BYOKchat on the web, iOS, and macOS, together with the byok.pro website and related product surfaces. By using BYOKchat or byok.pro, you agree to these terms.

Bring your own providers

BYOKchat is a client for third-party AI providers, custom endpoints, local servers, MCP servers, and related services that you configure. You are responsible for your provider accounts, API keys, usage charges, quotas, account security, acceptable-use obligations, and compliance with each service's terms.

Local-first product

BYOKchat is designed to keep conversations, workspace data, provider configuration, and related product data local to the app installation or browser environment you use rather than providing a BYOKchat cloud workspace or synchronization service. You are responsible for protecting your devices and browser profiles and for keeping any backups or exports you create.

Data can leave the local environment when you choose to use an AI provider, custom endpoint, MCP tool, other external service, or another feature that necessarily sends data elsewhere. Minimal first-party product analytics are described in the Privacy Policy.

AI output

AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or inappropriate. You are responsible for reviewing output before relying on it or using it in decisions. BYOKchat does not guarantee the accuracy, suitability, or availability of third-party models or AI services.

MCP tools and external actions

Connected MCP tools can read information or perform actions on services you configure. BYOKchat provides permission controls where supported, but you remain responsible for the servers, tools, accounts, arguments, permissions, and external actions you approve or enable.

BYOK Pro purchases

Optional BYOK Pro purchases offered through the iOS and macOS apps are processed by Apple through the App Store. Available products, pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and purchase restoration are subject to Apple's applicable terms, storefront availability, and account settings.

Your content and data

You retain responsibility for the content, files, credentials, backups, configurations, and services you use with BYOKchat. Protect your devices, browser profiles, provider accounts, credentials, and exported files appropriately.

Privacy

BYOKchat's local-first data handling, minimal first-party analytics, use of third-party providers, and other privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

Providers, models, APIs, MCP servers, local endpoints, and other services can change, introduce charges, experience outages, or become unavailable independently of BYOKchat. BYOKchat is not responsible for third-party service availability, billing, policy changes, or data practices.

Acceptable use

Do not use BYOKchat to violate applicable law, gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts, interfere with services, distribute unlawful content, or violate the terms of services you connect.

Product changes and availability

BYOKchat is actively developed. Features, limits, supported platforms, providers, model capabilities, and compatibility can change over time. The developer may modify or discontinue features when needed for product, security, platform, or third-party compatibility reasons.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BYOKchat and byok.pro are provided without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose. The developer is not responsible for third-party provider charges, outages, model output, external service behavior, or actions performed by services you connect or authorize.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as BYOKchat evolves. The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms where permitted by applicable law.
